Impressive performances at Lunchtime Recital

We were delighted to be able to hold our first lunchtime recital of the 2017-18 season in Llandaff Cathedral today. This is now an established and much valued performance opportunity as part of our annual concert schedule. The concert was supported by a good-sized audience, including family members of those performing, together with some very welcome support from the general public. Many thanks to Mr Moore, Cathedral Director of Music, for his words of introduction and welcome.

The concert began with a really polished chamber piece by Rimsky-Korsakov - Piano Quintet in B flat Major, 1st Movement. Many thanks to Mrs Plaut for her superb leadership in masterminding and rehearsing this group: Annabelle O (Flute), Dylan Z (Clarinet), Thomas P (French Horn), Mrs Plaut (Bassoon), Nadia V (Piano). Solo performers included: Bryn L (Violin) Bethan C (Harp) Katherine S (Piano) Eve H (voice) Owen P (Voice) James K (Vibraphone) and Dylan Z (Clarinet). Tomos B (Piano) concluded the concert with a simply stunning performance of Rachmaninoff, Prelude Op.32, No. 13 in D-flat - demonstrating outstanding musicianship and technical assurance.
