This morning the School fell silent as we reflected with gratitude on the courage of those who have fought and died for their country and we called to remembrance the victims of War.
It is always immensely moving to see the respectful and thoughtful faces of our pupils participating in the services and consider the youth of so many caught up in conflict, not only in our History but also in the present day. Every day, when any of our pupils work for peace, in their relationships and interactions, it is another step closer to bringing an end to conflict across the globe. Our responsibility starts here - and we certainly saw an understanding of that in the pupils and students today.
Both at the Field of Remembrance at Cardiff castle on Wednesday and at the Llandaff Memorial today, we recalled that, on the 20th November, it will be the centenary of the battle of Cambrai in which Old Llandavian Richard Wain died during the action for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. We may not all be called to such action, but we can all work to make our own time a place of peace.
