Infant and Junior Problem Solving Week a great success

The week began with a visit from Mr Paul Godding, a maths puzzle inventor, who worked with pupils from Years 1-4 playing a variety of maths games designed to test pupils' ability to work in small groups and ‘Use and Apply' their understanding.

Pupils spent the rest of the week working on focussed problem solving tasks, individually, in pairs and small groups, which required pupils to ‘take the mathematics out of the problem'. Early reports from parents are that these problems challenged the adults too! A fun week was had by all, with a strong focus on Maths.
