On Tuesday evening, Junior pupils entertained an audience packed with loved ones with some wonderful musical treats. The concert began with a confident display of rock music on the drum kit and electric guitar from our Year 6 pupils.
Descanti, our Year 3 recorder group, performed two Latin pieces with much enthusiasm and energy in their first ever Junior Chamber Concert.Throughout, the audience were led through a melodic array of instrumental solos and ensembles. From the piano to tenoroon, flute to marimba and clarinet to cello, there was plenty of wonderful timbres and styles for every musical taste. The Flute Ensemble, performed a beautiful arrangement of Ar Hyd y Nos as well as an uplifting performance of March from The Nutcracker followed by the wonderfully rich tones of the Junior Brass Ensemble, who performed Abide with Me. The String Ensemble had our feet tapping with a Mary Poppins, classic, A Spoonful of Sugar, as well as our Recorderama group, who performed Bare Necessities with much joviality. Our Junior Guitarists ended the evening with a confident performance of two traditional American pieces. An evening where the range of music available at CSL was on display, and what a display it was. Our thanks to all those who made this evening such a wonderful experience. For more photos, click here.
