Modern Foreign Languages Debate

29 January 2025
Modern Foreign Languages Debate

15 talented linguists from Years 12 and 13 participated in the Modern Foreign Languages debating competition at Clifton College, showcasing their impressive Spanish, French and German knowledge.

All teams demonstrated outstanding language skills and supported their arguments with well-researched evidence. The judges were particularly impressed with their fluency, preparation and ability to confidently articulate. Some even thought our students were native speakers - an incredible testament to the quality of their language use.

The French team secured a well-deserved victory with strong, persuasive arguments. The German team narrowly missed out on a win, and two Spanish teams triumphed, despite competing against Year 13 students, while the third lost by the smallest of margins.

A huge congratulations to Charlie B, Evan C, Megan E, Christopher F, Delfina G, Kavin G, Emily H, Emily H, Eva H, Ana J, Sylvie M, Onkon R, Edward R-S, Timea T-T, and Henry T for your incredible performances – a true reflection of your dedication and hard work.
