The first meeting of the new Senior Section School Council took place on Monday. The aim of the new structure to the School Council is to enable a wider group of pupils to have an impact on the way the School is run, to develop their leadership skills and to contribute to key areas of the School Development Plan. We will hold two full meetings at the beginning and end of each term and two smaller meetings, led by the Student Leaders, in which individual year groups can push forward ideas. Possible plans for the future discussed this week were whether pupils should wear their blazers during the School day, a proposed reform to the notification system, the introduction of a therapy dog, giving pupils a wider choice in their PHME topics, designating student leaders as listeners for younger pupils with concerns and encouraging mixing between different year groups, perhaps through mixed year events. Well done to all the reps. Mrs Sherwood
