Senior Open Morning
Wednesday 18 March 2026
The Senior Teatime Concert was a wonderful celebration of musical talent, with pupils delivering a varied and accomplished programme.
The concert opened with a confident performance of Spanish Romance on guitar, setting the tone for an evening that moved effortlessly between classical repertoire and more contemporary favourites. Pianists demonstrated both technical control and musical flair, with highlights including a lively duet performance of Frolic and a spirited rendition of Alla Turka.
Our string players impressed with expressive performances of works including Gavotte, Sonata in F and In a Spanish Garden, while woodwind musicians showcased both precision and rich tone in pieces such as the Bassoon Concerto in Bb: Andante ma adagio, Sicilienne et Allegro Giocoso and Clarinet Sonata: ii. Romanza. The concert concluded with a poised and lyrical vocal performance of Go, Lovely Rose, bringing the programme to a fitting close.
The standard throughout was high, reflecting the dedication and steady progress of our Senior musicians. Well done to all performers!
