The sixth form has begun. We were delighted to welcome the students in to school for induction on Monday and Tuesday, for their first day of lessons on Wednesday, and to celebrate with them the formal opening of the Sixth Form Centre on Thursday. The students were ‘commissioned' as senior students within the school community during the School Eucharist in the Cathedral, the Cathedral packed with many visitors as well as the pupils from Years 7 - 12. After the Cathedral service the students gathered, with parents, governors and guests, at the Sixth Form Centre for the cutting of the ribbon (done by the Custos, Gilbert Lloyd, with his two immediate predecessors, Peter Davey and Alastair Golley) and the cutting of a celebratory cake by the students themselves (everyone in the Senior Section got a piece to enjoy).
This weekend the students are enjoying a ‘Bushcraft' survival weekend, and next week the work begins in earnest.
