On Wednesday evening, the Sixth Form Interact Team and the School Jazz Band (25-piece swing band) came together for a fantastic evening of jazz music. The Interact Team were raising money for their charity LATCH, and the three house charities, Tenvous, Ty Hafan and Leaves of Hope. The concert was led by Director of Music, Mr Aspden, and Mr Atkinson on the microphone as compere and vocalist. Together, pupils and staff put on a fabulous evening with classic jazz tunes with highlights including, "New York New York", "Feeling Good" and "Cantaloupe Island".
In addition to Jazz Band, there were also some wonderful solo performances from Ben L, Morgan S, Daniel W, Francesco B, Tom K-W as well as a jazz combo put together by Mr and Mrs Vaughan; a surprise improvisation on the piano from Charlie H and Tom B on the drums delighted the audience. Throughout the evening, performance standards were very high indeed and the pupils can be justly proud of a superb evening of music.
The Interact Team hosted a drinks and snacks bar throughout the evening raising money for the various charities. They raised a fantastic amount of £385 with thanks to the generous audience, a great success!
