Celebrating the Head's Award

Celebrating the Head's Award

In front of the whole Senior School, staff and proud parents, 25  Year 10 pupils were presented with their Gold Head’s Awards by Mrs Sherwood, marking a wonderful celebration of their achievement. The Gold Award represents the culmination of the Head’s Award scheme and recognises the commitment, enthusiasm and determination these pupils have shown across an impressive range of activities and interests, both within school and beyond it. For many, it also marks an exciting point from which they will now move on to new challenges, including working towards their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.

Mrs Sherwood spoke warmly about how impressed she had been by the sheer variety of interests, activities and initiatives in which the pupils had involved themselves, and by the energy and commitment they had demonstrated along the way. She encouraged them to take great pride in all they had achieved and highlighted the example they now set to younger pupils throughout the School. As recipients of the Gold Head’s Award, they are wonderful role models for what it means to embrace opportunities, get involved and contribute fully to the life of CSL. Congratulations to all 25 recipients on a richly deserved achievement!

Bronze and Silver Awards

On Wednesday evening, we were delighted to celebrate the achievements of our current Year 8 and 9 pupils as Mrs Sherwood and Mrs Smart presented the Bronze and Silver Head’s Awards. Pupils and their parents enjoyed a series of outstanding presentations, delivered with confidence, enthusiasm and clarity by Aaran S, Will S, Nathan V, Ava C, Siena F, Lauren L and Matthew W. Each presentation showcased one of the five key areas pupils complete as part of the Award and provided a wonderful insight into the breadth of their achievements, interests and involvement.

The evening concluded with an excellent presentation from Year 10 pupils Matilda L, Elsie M and Aaira S, themselves proud recipients of the Gold Head’s Award this year. They spoke eloquently about the importance of the Head’s Award and everything it seeks to celebrate: the remarkable range of activities, interests and achievements of CSL pupils, both within school and beyond it. Above all, the evening was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and reward pupils who embrace opportunities, contribute enthusiastically to school life and pursue their interests with commitment and energy. Congratulations to everyone who received an award – a fantastic achievement of which you should be extremely proud!
