Animal Adventures

Reception and Year 5 pupils have been busy bringing their topic learning to life through some wonderful hands-on experiences with the natural world.

Reception enjoyed an action-packed day in Bute Park, where they were warmly welcomed by the park rangers. Armed with nets and curiosity, the pupils hunted for minibeasts, shaking tree branches and carefully collecting tiny creatures in special pots to observe up close. It was a brilliant way to explore nature and see their classroom learning in action.

Meanwhile, Year 5’s long-awaited trip to Folly Farm was filled with memorable moments. From the excitement of petting rabbits and goats at the petting zoo to spotting the distinctive macaroni penguin with its yellow quiff, there were plenty of animal encounters to enjoy. Pupils learned about conservation while observing lions, giraffes and rhinos in their spacious enclosures, gaining a deeper understanding of these incredible species and the importance of protecting them.
