Sports Day

Sports Day

Our recent Sports Days were a fantastic showcase of pupils giving their all, cheering each other on and celebrating together as a community.

Infant Sports Day saw glorious weather and plenty of smiles as our youngest pupils raced, jumped and supported their friends with great enthusiasm. Parents were out in force, creating a lovely atmosphere of encouragement and pride. Congratulations to Coombes, who took home the overall trophy, and a special mention to Clayton L-B W and Noah J, who crossed the finish line together to earn the Thomas Trophy as the fastest runners in Year 2.

In the afternoon, our Junior pupils gave determined performances across both track and field events. There were standout achievements from Emily M, who broke the shot put record, and Aadvik A and Seb R, who set new records in the ball throw. The Victor and Victrix Ludorum trophies were awarded to Rafael T and Emily M for their all-round excellence. Congratulations to Wains who were crowned overall winners in the final points tally.

Senior Sports Day brought more memorable moments as pupils challenged themselves to new personal bests and supported their Houses with real spirit. Eight field event records were broken, including an impressive double from Dylan H in the long jump and triple jump, and Alex P, who now remarkably holds the javelin record for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. Ten more records fell on the track, including the Year 8 100m record by Dylan H, only fractions off the School’s all-time best. Timea T-T also broke the Year 12 100m and 200m records, with her 100m now the fastest ever in school history. Both Dylan and Timea were named Victor and Victrix Ludorum. Congratulations to Dyfrig, who took the Senior House Cup.

Well done to every pupil for their effort, teamwork and House pride!
