Author Visits

Author Visits

Pupils across the School have been inspired by a series of engaging author visits, bringing books, poetry and storytelling to life.

Following on from World Book Day celebrations in the Primary section, Senior pupils (Years 7 to 9) welcomed Young Adult Fiction author Kathryn Evans for an engaging and thought-provoking visit. Her thought-provoking novels explore the pressures young people face, including the impact of social media. Her talk was a fascinating mix of history, advertising and humour, encouraging pupils to think critically about body image and online influence. During lunchtime, pupils had the opportunity to ask Kathryn about life as a writer, before taking part in a creative writing workshop focused on structuring stories. Kathryn praised their enthusiasm and storytelling potential - perhaps we have some future authors in our midst! A huge thank you to our Senior Librarian, Chris Yard, for organising such a fantastic visit.
