We were delighted to welcome back former choristers, families and friends for a special weekend celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Girl Choristers in Llandaff.
The event marked three decades since our girl choristers sang their first service in the Cathedral and brought together voices from across the years to celebrate this important milestone. It was a wonderful opportunity for former choristers to reconnect, share memories and, of course, make music together once again and for current members of the choir to celebrate all that it is to be a chorister.
The celebrations began with a concert on Saturday afternoon where current boy and girl choristers were joined by former choristers in some favourite music, before continuing with services in the Cathedral on Sunday. It was particularly moving to hear the different generations of choristers, filling the Cathedral with a shared sound and spirit that reflected the lasting impact of the chorister experience.
Throughout the weekend, guests enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends and former teachers and revisit familiar places within the School and Cathedral. The warmth, enthusiasm and sense of community present throughout the event helped make it both joyful and memorable.
