Egg-citing News!
09 March 2026
The Nursery pupils have been busy learning all about the lifecycle of a chick and creating some egg-cellent crafts!
On Monday, ten little eggs arrived in Nursery as part of their Down on the Farm topic. The eggs were in an incubator keeping warm in the classroom so the pupils could watch carefully for any changes. They took turns to observe, waiting patiently for the eggs to crack.
On Wednesday morning, to everyone’s great delight, six chicks pushed and pecked their way out of the shell. Initially, they were extremely wobbly, but it wasn't long before they were yellow and fluffy and waiting for their friends. They did not have to wait long, as a further two chicks hatched on Thursday and the final two arrived on Friday!
