Highlight of the Week

Dyfrig win House Fine Art Competition

This week we were delighted to welcome David FitzJohn, Head of Fine Art at Cardiff Art Schoolto judge our first Fine Art Competition.  

The three categories were:

• Transport – black and white drawing
• Animals in their element – colour painting
• Urban landscape – mixed media

Each house had to select no more than three entries for each section, and it was great to see so many pupils taking part from Year 7 to 13.  Mr FitzJohn gave some super advice about how to improve our technique, and explained in detail how he had decided on who would win the prizes.  The prize winners were:

• Transport                                       
• 1^st Ella T (Dyfrig), 2^nd Olivia G (Teilo), 3rd Bronwen D-M (Teilo)
• Animals in their element                  
• 1^st Lucy H (Dyfrig), 2^nd Ellen Woolf (Euddogwy), 3^rd Lea K-C (Euddogwy)
• Urban landscape – mixed media      
• 1^st Shivansh A (Dyfrig), 2^nd Nathaniel R (Teilo), 3^rd Abigail H (Teilo)

So overall, Dyfrig were the winners with Teilo in second place and Euddogwy in third.
