House Challenge Glory for Dyfrig

Competitors faced some challenging questions in this year’s House Challenge. Following the Year 7-9 round, Teilo and Euddogwy held a commanding joint lead on 70 points each, while Dyfrig trailed on 10 points. Zac N delivered an impressive performance for Euddogwy, while Teilo benefited from a strong all-round team effort. 

Although Dyfrig had ground to make up, the Year 10-13 competition saw a remarkable turnaround. They began with a convincing 60-30 victory over Euddogwy, reducing the deficit and restoring confidence. 

What followed was a masterclass from Patrick M in Dyfrig’s match against Teilo. With six starter questions answered correctly, the team capitalised on the bonus rounds, answering 14 out of a possible 18 bonus questions to secure an emphatic 200-40 victory. 

An equally impressive performance was required from both Euddogwy and Teilo if they were to regain the lead. Teilo made a strong attempt with another excellent team effort, but ultimately could not match Dyfrig’s score. 

A win for Dyfrig and a second place for Teilo puts the house points on:

• Teilo – 150 points 
• Dyfrig – 125 points 
• Euddogwy – 75 points
