Rising Welsh rugby star Will Harries came back to the Cathedral School this week, where his rugby career first began.
Home from New Zealand, where he made his debut for Wales, Newport Gwent Dragons wing and Old Llandavian, Will Harries was greeted with a warm welcome from current pupils at School, which he attended until the age of 13.
Meeting the Year 10 rugby squad, including younger brother Freddie, Will was quizzed on being selected for Wales, his fitness regime and how it felt facing the All Blacks Haka.
Will said: "It was great to come back to the Cathedral School and see how much it's developed since I left, especially the new Sports Pavilion development and to see some familiar faces from the sports department!
"Getting my first cap was such a proud moment, especially against the All Blacks and hopefully I'll get more chances with Wales."
Ryland Griffiths, who has taught sport at the Cathedral School for 22 years, added: "We've been avidly following Will's career since he left the school and were delighted for him on the weekend.
"Even when he was only a youngster, his talent was evident. His speed and skill was quite outstanding for one so young and his progression onto the international stage has not come as a surprise to others who remember him on the sports field here.
"We're grateful to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and visit - there was a real buzz around school when he was here, especially from the rugby fans!
"We wish Will all the best and look forward to seeing him win more caps!"
