Oasis Food Drive
20 March 2026
This week, our school community has come together in a truly inspiring way.
Organised by our dedicated Schools of Sanctuary Committee, we collected food donations to support the incredible work of Oasis Cardiff, a charity committed to offering a 'Warm Welsh Welcome' to refugees and asylum seekers. It provides vital support to those who have recently arrived in the city, including daily lunches for up to 150 people, alongside a wide range of services designed to help individuals and families settle, rebuild, and thrive.
Last week, the Seniors had the privilege of welcoming Norman from Oasis Cardiff to join them for eucharist. His visit offered pupils a powerful insight into the realities faced by refugees and the importance of providing practical, meaningful support. Earlier in the term, Norman also spent time with our Junior pupils, helping them understand the mission of Oasis and strengthening the growing connection between our school and the charity.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by families across the school. The volume of donations reflects not only kindness but a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Mrs Poole would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to the Schools of Sanctuary Committee for their enthusiasm and hard work in organising and promoting the food drive. Their efforts have played a key role in the success of this initiative.
