Old Llandavians Inspire Future Applicants

On Monday evening pupils in Years 10-12 were treated to a masterclass in presentations by OL "Oxbridge" students, Clara P and Faaris A.  Relating their experiences, tips and insights over how to make good applications to either Oxford or Cambridge Universities, both Clara and Faaris gave everyone an illuminating and fascinating explanation of the processes they worked through, how they organised their thoughts and their time, but also explained the rationale for what they did why in order to give their applications the best chances of success.  

They also explained what students could expect from tutors, the privilege and challenge of 1:1 tutorials /supervision and what College life would be like, reminding us that university life at Oxford and Cambridge is not always all about academic studies. Faaris plays badminton as part of a "Blues pathway", and Clara, a former CSL Choral Scholar, has continued with her singing as part of a number of university ensembles.  It was wonderful to see these dedicated alumni return to their old school to give something back and allow others to benefit from their experiences!
