Primary Choirs Lunchtime Concert

On a bright, sunlit afternoon, Llandaff Cathedral provided a fittingly uplifting backdrop for this year's Primary Choirs’ Lunchtime Concert.
The programme opened with the Infant Choir, who immediately charmed the audience with a lively, colourful number about a spring chicken. Their performance was full of energy and personality, setting a cheerful tone for the concert. They closed with Sunshine, Showers and Rainbows, a bouncy piece that perfectly captured the spirit of a Spring day.
Next came the Junior Choristers, whose refined, blended tone filled the Cathedral space with ease. Their rendition of The Lily and the Rose by Chilcott was beautifully controlled and expressive, offering a calm and reflective contrast to the opening set.
The mood shifted again with Cantate, the Year 3 and 4 choir, who demonstrated great versatility. Their gentle, prayerful Kum Ba Yah created a moment of stillness before they launched into a spirited and theatrical performance of Nellie the Elephant. Full of character and storytelling flair, their performance drew smiles from the audience.
Bringing the concert to a close was Cantemus, the Year 5 and 6 choir. They opened with a heartfelt performance of A Million Dreams, showcasing lovely harmonies and confident musicality. Their final piece, Take a Look at Us Now, was a joyful and energetic finale, delivered with enthusiasm and plenty of smiling faces.
The concert was a delightful showcase of the pupils’ hard work. A big thank you to staff and families for all your support.
