Pupils take a vote in mock referendum

This morning's Senior Section pupils were presented with a debate from the successful Public Speaking team on the forthcoming Referendum in Wales.

James N-B argued for the Welsh Assembly Government being granted further law making powers, likening Wales to a growing child needing to be trusted to make informed decisions.

While Will M argued against, dismissing James's argument and passionately arguing that Wales should learn to walk before it can run!

All pupils voted at the end of the assembly - 246 votes were cast: 163 voted no, 81 voted yes and there were 2 undecided.

If the vote were down to the Cathedral School, then the National Assembly of Wales would not be granted power to make laws on matters in the 20 subject areas it has powers for.
