Senior Open Morning
Wednesday 18 March 2026
Our Senior production of Macbeth was an impressive showcase of confidence and talent.
Billy R delivered a compelling performance as Macbeth, charting his descent into ambition and guilt with growing intensity, while Grace B was equally commanding as Lady Macbeth, capturing both ruthless determination and psychological collapse. Together, they formed the gripping emotional core of the production.
The supporting cast made a vital contribution to the play’s success. Banquo was portrayed with quiet integrity, offering a clear contrast to Macbeth’s downfall, while the witches created a consistently eerie presence through precise physicality and vocal control. Strong performances also came from Sasha R as Macduff and Oli P as Malcolm. Across the cast, pupils demonstrated a confident grasp of Shakespeare’s language, delivering complex dialogue with clarity and control.
A strong sense of ensemble underpinned the production. From Duncan (Tanya N), Ross (Gwen M O), Lennox (Patrick M), Lady Macduff (Timea T-T) and Donalbain (Libby B), to the wider supporting roles, every pupil contributed meaningfully. The thrust staging was handled with precision, creating an immersive atmosphere, while the backstage crew (Amy H, Annabel L, Skye W and Tess H) provided excellent lighting support.
The production tackled themes of power, morality and consequence with insight and confidence, inspiring both GCSE pupils studying the play and younger audiences in Years 8 and 9.
