This week saw four Year 7 pupils - Sam B, Dan M, Prakrit P and John Z - secure their places in the Routes into Languages Spelling Bee National final.
Competing in the South Wales Regional Final, the pupils had just one minute to face the judges and translate and spell as many words as possible, chosen at random from a list of 150.
Open to Year 7 pupils in the first year of learning a language, the event saw eleven schools battle for just four places in the national final. Following a nail biting ‘sudden death' spell-off, the Cathedral School managed to secure all four places for learners of Spanish.
Congratulations to them all on such a fantastic achievement and we wish them every success for the final in July.
