Interactive Learning in Action

This week has been full of hands-on learning across the school, giving pupils the chance to engage directly with their subjects and bring their learning to life.

Our youngest learners in Nursery enjoyed a 'fabulous finish' to their Transport topic when two vintage buses – a double-decker and a coach – were brought in for them to explore. Excitement was high as pupils clambered aboard, asked the conductor for tickets, and took a pretend journey while singing The Wheels on the Bus. This immersive experience combined play, imagination, and real-world context to consolidate their learning.

Meanwhile, Year 9 pupils took part in the annual Ye Olde Elizabethan Bake Off, preparing treats such as strawberry tarts, Banbury cake, jumbles, Norfolk fool, and aniseed cakes. By working with historical recipes and ingredients, they gained a tangible understanding of everyday life in Elizabethan England, including diet, food preparation, and the cultural significance of different ingredients.
