Language Debate Success

Bristol Grammar School recently hosted an exciting series of Language Debates involving sixth form students, showcasing both linguistic confidence and sharp debating skills.
Our Spanish team achieved a well-deserved victory after debating the influence of celebrity role models, presenting persuasive arguments with fluency and confidence. Meanwhile, the German team also celebrated success, winning their debate on the negative influence of social media on young people with thoughtful and well-structured points. The event proved to be an excellent opportunity for students to practise their foreign language skills in a challenging and engaging context, while also developing their ability to think critically, argue clearly and respond spontaneously. Overall, the debates were a great success and an annual highlight of the languages department.
