Old Llandavian, Andy Lewis has beaten off competition from thousands of musicians to secure his place in the final ten of the The Big Audition with Jamie Cullum.
Having got his big break playing at the PizzaExpress Jazz Club in London, Jamie Cullum is helping the Club to find the next big name in live music.
A boy chorister at the Cathedral School in the 90's, Andy is now a singer-songwriter/trumpeter in London. Running various projects, be it his duo, trio or quartet, Andy plays a mixture of his own material and re-arrangements of tunes including classics from the 60's through to modern day chart toppers.
Andy also runs a music project for people suffering with mental health problems, encompassing everything from composition, performance through to rap and MCing. He says: "Without the musical platform the Cathedral School gave me, there is no way I'd be in the position I'm in now, in terms of this competition, but more importantly as someone who makes their living out of music.
"It unquestionably gave me the focus and discipline needed to work in an incredibly cut throat and competitive industry - it's only after you've left school that you begin to appreciate quite how lucky you have been and what amazing opportunities you've had at your disposal."
