At this morning’s Senior School Eucharist for the season of Lent, we reflected on the theme I was a stranger, and you welcomed me.
We were pleased to welcome Norman Gettings, a representative from Oasis Cardiff, a local charity that supports refugees and people seeking asylum by providing a safe, welcoming space, practical support and a strong sense of community. To support their work, we will be holding a whole-school food drive from Monday 16th to Friday 20th March. With the right supplies, Oasis Cardiff can provide nutritious hot meals for up to 150 people each day, and sharing food together helps ensure that everyone feels cared for, welcomed and at home. We warmly encourage all members of our school community to contribute non-perishable items such as rice, pasta, noodles, tinned food, cooking oil, stock cubes, herbs and spices. Donations can be brought to Lodge Reception (EYFS & KS1), the front entrance of Gloucester Building (KS2), or the Chapel (Seniors). Together, we hope to make this the largest food drive in CSL’s history and make a real difference to those in need.
