Whole School Open Morning
Saturday 4 October 2025
A huge well done to the 44 Year 10 and 11 pupils who completed their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Qualifying Expedition.
The weather and ground conditions were perfect, even if some of the map reading and navigational choices were a little more ‘creative’ at times! Over the three days, every team showed real improvement in their camp skills, teamwork work and resilience. Pupils walked up to 45km through the beautiful countryside around Abergavenny, taking in landmarks such as White Castle, Llanthony Priory and Llangattock Church, adding a welcome dose of Welsh history and culture to their adventure. All of our participants put in a tremendous effort and have earned their place on Gold DofE if they choose to take on the next challenge in Year 12...once the blisters and aching muscles have recovered.
Thank you once again to all the staff who attended the expedition, without whom these trips just could not happen.
