This week all pupils in the Junior and Senior sections of the School took part in its traditional cross-country race for the Gould Cup and Willis Plate, first run in the Lent term in 1950. Prior to the main race, the Infant section ran in their own Cross Country Challenge.
Mr John Gould, who founded the race, when interviewed for the race's 50th anniversary last year said that it was originally a Hare and Hounds race, where he, as the ‘Hare,' ran ahead scattering a trail of small pieces of paper, which the ‘Hounds had to follow!
Taking home the trophies this year were Alex E, winner of the Gould Cup and Caitlin B, winner of the Willis Plate.
John Gould was a pupil from 1938-41, coached rugby in the school and served on the school council for 30 years, as well as being President of the Old Llandavians.
