The Cathedral School has a team of around 20 Visiting Music Teachers offering expert, one-to-one tuition in most conventional orchestral, keyboard and pop instruments. Many also hold professional positions at Welsh National Opera, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and the University of Wales. All are highly motivated and enthusiastic teachers of their respective instruments and are keen to transmit this enthusiasm to their pupils.
There is an additional charge for instrumental and vocal lessons (see our current fees page), each lasting 30 minutes and on a one-to-one basis. (paired lessons on certain instruments are sometimes possible in the Infants and lower Juniors). Lessons are given during the school day on a rotational basis, with sixth formers having priority lessons during their free periods or at other times during the day.
