Netball

Netball is one of the three major sports the girls are involved with at the Cathedral School and is the team sport in which the girls participate during the Lent term. We field A and B teams from the majority of age groups and enjoy a weekly programme of fixtures, including Saturdays. Many of our girls attend the LA HUB programmes, with girls representing at both County and International level across the year groups.

Squad practice take place in lunchtime slots, which have become very popular in all age groups. Led by experienced and enthusiastic coaching staff; including current Wales and Celtic Dragons player, Nia Jones, whose expectations are always met by the commitment of pupils. Shooting practice is available in addition to games afternoons and squad practices.

We enter Cardiff and Vale County tournaments regularly, whilst also entering the URDD at U13, U15 and U18 age groups. The U18 squad were URDD champions in 2016; entering these tournaments is a great platform for our pupils to play against other schools across both Cardiff and Wales.
